Just left click on the link (light blue that later turns pink), and, if you see a short wide white dialog box, type in what you want and then left click the SEARCH or GO or OK button.

Search Engines

(Search Engines often also have Gateway Directories listed under where the search engine search word(s) go.)

	AltaVista - A thorough, massive search engine. Can bury you in responses if you are not highly specific with search topic. Good.	Ask Jeeves - Natural language searcher.... you can even type out questions. Effective.	DogPile.com - Search engine of selected search engines and news groups. Thorough and very good for years.
	Clean, Powerful, Sophisticated - The original California Google and Montreal's VROOSH!.	InfoSpace - Strong mid-detail searcher, broad range. Also has many groups of links and services.	Lycos - Good mid-detail search engine. Also has a comprehensive set of links and strong interconnected and popular services.
	Netscape - Good search engine, which returns a largish number of responses. Also has stocks, weather, books. (Part of AOL/ Netscape/ CompuServe.)	Yahoo! - Great general purpose searcher, but also shows many sponsored results. Justifiably very popular, and also has Gateway links.	Get archived URL pages, in some cases back to 1996, at The Internet Archive. Good resource for seeing the historical evolution of a specific Uniform Resource Locator.

Gateways

(Gateways generally have Search Engines too, over top of their Directory lists.)

About.com - Provides a massive collection of About.com sites on Autos, Food, Hobbies, Kids, Teens, and numerous other subjects (plus good search engine at top of page).

LookSmart - Well known large directories cover Computers, Lifestyle, People & Chat, Sports, Travel, Work, and more (plus good search engine at top).
