Community Human Service Info from Information & Referral [I & R] - You can call toll-free 800.230.6977 to get information on any human service, or on volunteer opportunities. This is statewide and you will be connected to Richmond or other appropriate data site. (Burkeville, Blackstone, and Farmville are in Planning District 14.)

Piedmont Crisis Calls - For immediate sex abuse and spouse abuse protection and help, you can call toll-free 888.819.2926 (24 hours/day), which connects to Madeline's House emergency abuse shelter/ Southside Center for Violence Prevention. Other help is available through phoning 911 or through I & R.
